-weather, wether o whether?-
- -weather, wether o whether?-
- Nota d'uso
Il sostantivo weather si riferisce alle condizioni atmosferiche, meteorologiche: What's the weather like?, com'è il tempo?; to listen to the weather forecast, ascoltare le previsioni del tempo. Non confondere weather con whether, che si pronuncia allo stesso modo; whether è una congiunzione che si usa per introdurre un'alternativa o una domanda indiretta: I don't know whether it is right or not, non so se è giusto o no; They asked whether they might stay longer, hanno chiesto se potevano rimanere più a lungo. Si pronuncia allo stesso modo anche il sostantivo wether, che significa “montone castrato”.
